Major news for the businesses in Australia today as AWS has made available Amazon Glacier and Amazon Redshift in Sydney. This will accelerate the adoption of AWS cloud in region, especially among those who had reservations to store their data in Glacier in other regions.
Besides new services in Sydney, AWS also announced availability of Redshift in Singapore.
AWS also noted that it has now more than 14,000 users in Australia & New Zealand, including big name banks National Australia Bank and Commonwealth Bank. Besides banks, Fairfax Media, University of Western Australia, RedBaloon and Freelancer.com were also AWS customers.
